About the Symposium

SPARK 2025: The Department of Physics, North Lakhimpur University (formerly North Lakhimpur College – Autonomous), is delighted to announce the 2nd edition of the Symposium on Physics: Advances in Research and Knowledge, (SPARK). This two-day National Conference on Current Trends in Physics will take place in the 2nd week of September 2025 (Tentative). The conference will feature invited keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and a poster session. Discussions will encompass both theoretical and experimental advancements, covering a wide range of topics in physics. The first edition, SPARK 2023, was successfully held on October 14, 2023, with its proceedings published in the IOP Journal of Physics: Conference Series. The proceedings of SPARK 2025 will also be published with either IOP or another reputed publishing house. The publisher will be announced once confirmed. Both oral and poster presentations will be considered for inclusion in the proceedings.

Call for Abstract (Opening Soon)

SPARK 2025 invites abstract submissions from researchers and academics across various domains of Physics. Please carefully follow the guidelines below while preparing your submission. The abstract portal will open shortly. Meanwhile, authors are encouraged to prepare the following:

CERN-Indico Account: A CERN-Indico account is required for abstract submission. You can log in using your social login credentials (Google, Facebook, etc.) or create a new account using your email address.
Abstract Length: Abstracts should not exceed 500 words. Ensure your abstract provides a clear and concise summary of your research, highlighting the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
Author Information: Include the full names, email addresses, and affiliations of all authors.
Submission Deadline: The deadline for abstract submission will be announced soon.
Approval Process: All submitted abstracts will undergo review by an expert committee. The approval status will be communicated via email within one week of submission.
Registration Process: Approved participants must complete the symposium registration process. Only registered participants will be eligible to present their research during the symposium.

Conference Proceedings and Manuscript Submission

Participants who present their work at the conference, through either oral or poster presentations, will be invited to submit full papers for consideration in the proceedings. The proceedings will be published by either the IOP Journal of Physics: Conference Series (the publisher of the previous edition) or another reputed publishing house. The final publisher will be announced upon confirmation.

Submission Guidelines

Exclusivity of Submissions: SPARK 2025 will only accept papers that have not been previously published or accepted elsewhere, including conferences and journals. Authors must commit to not submitting their papers to other venues during the SPARK 2025 review period.
Plagiarism Check: All submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous plagiarism check to ensure the originality of the work.
Peer Review Process: All submissions will be evaluated through a single-blind peer review process, ensuring reviewers are independent of the authors. Each paper will be reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field to guarantee a fair and thorough assessment.
Editorial Decision: While peer review reports will play a crucial role, the final decision on acceptance lies with the editors. Editors retain the right to overrule reviewer recommendations if necessary.
Reviewer Feedback: Authors will receive detailed feedback from reviewers along with the editorial decision. If significant concerns are raised by a single reviewer or editor, the manuscript may be rejected.
Exceptional Circumstances: In rare cases where securing two independent reviewers is not possible, an editor with subject expertise may act as a second reviewer, or a decision may be made based on a single review report.
Conflict of Interest: If an editor has a competing interest in a particular manuscript, the peer review process will be handled by another editor to ensure impartiality.

North Lakhimpur University

The newly established university is one of the latest additions to the state of Assam's higher education landscape, having been established in September 2023. This significant development came about when the Assam government upgraded the former North Lakhimpur College to a state university. The former North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) had already carved out a distinguished reputation in the field of higher education in Assam. Notably, it was the first autonomous college in Assam and the second in the entire North East India region.

The Department of Physics at this institution was initiated in 1966, marking a pivotal moment in the institution's history. In 1976, the department introduced the BSc Honours course in Physics. Since its inception, the department has been at the forefront of physics education in the North East, producing over 400 graduates.The department introduced the MSc course in 2021. Furthermore, it is currently in the process of planning and preparing to launch Research Programs later this year.

No, the conference is for individual registration only. If multiple participants wants to register against a single Abstract they need to Submit the Registration forms separately.
